Podcasts you should really listen to.

I don’t know if many of you listen to podcasts of authors work – if you haven’t then you are missing out on some great stories. A few I have listened to and highly recommend are the podcast stories of Scott Sigler, J.C. Hutchins, Seth Harwood and Phil Rossi – there are others who are equally as good, and maybe better, but these merit a mention. They have made a lot of stories available for free and are worthy of a listen.

Before he was published Scott Sigler built a large following online by giving away his self-recorded audio-books as free podcasts. If you like your reading material to be bloody, violent, hard-hitting adventure horror sci-fi then head over to his site and download Earthcore,AncestorInfected and many more. But be careful because you will end up hooked and listen to them all, becoming a Junkie in the process, bowing down to the Future Dark Overlord! I listened to The Rookie as a podcast and purchased a signed limited edition hardcover version – look out for the follow-up, The Starter, available for pre-order on April 1st.

Recently, one of the prolific podcasters in recent years, J.C. Hutchins made a decision to refrain from making anymore of his material free. It’s sad but he felt that the current model around which podcast fiction is built does not provide him with a decent return for the many hours he has dedicated. As much as we like things for free, it takes time to create them, so I can only applaud his decision but mourn not being able to hear any more! As he mentions in the post on his site, “very few people are willing to pay for general podcast content, much less podcast fiction.” So, unless we buy the podcasts or the books, there will be no more. Visit the J.C. Hutchins site and download the 7th Son books – if you like them, then buy the books that are available.

Other recommended podcasts to listen to are the Jack Palms novels over at Seth Harwood’s site. Smooth, cool and tough as hell, Jack Palms is waiting for you so download and listen to all 3 in the series - Jack Wakes UpJack Palms 2: This is LifeJack Palms 3.

Also, you should give the podcast stories of Phil Rossi a listen. The first one I listened to wasEden which is a strange little tale about a tree in space…told you it was strange! Give it a go and the others which available on the site.
